Switching Your Framework or Working Papers (Desktop)
What it is: The process of changing a client file's reporting framework (e.g., from IFRS to IFRS for SMEs) or its working papers pack after the client file has already been created.
What it's for
A client's reporting requirements can change — for example, a company may move from a general IFRS framework to the SME standard, or the firm may want to use a different working papers template. This can be done at any time through Client Setup, but it replaces the existing template, so all customisations to the AFS or working papers will be lost.
Always create a backup before switching — the change is not reversible.
How to do it
Switch the reporting framework
- Select Client Setup.
- Select Switch Framework / Working Papers.
- Select Framework and choose the new framework from the drop-down.
- Select Create Backup, choose a save location, and select OK.
- Select Switch Framework to apply the change.
Switch working papers
- In the same Switch Framework / Working Papers screen, select Working Papers.
- Use the drop-down to select the new working papers pack.
- Select Switch Working Papers to apply.
Changing the framework replaces the AFS template and lead schedules. Changing working papers replaces the working papers — any custom working papers or edits are overwritten.
